With the help of our community partners, Dexter’s 200 year celebration will be one for the history books.

Dexter City Council

The Dexter City Council is the primary legislative body for the City of Dexter. It is compromised of six council members and a mayor that are elected by the residents to be the policymakers for the city.

The Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee was established by Council Resolution in 2008. They advise the City Council on the development of arts, culture and heritage, promote and publicize projects, serve as advocates, and encourage public awareness, networking and collaboration.

As one of its projects, the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee (ACH) is charged with coordination of the celebration, and as a result, the ACH established a Bicentennial Subcommittee (BSC) in May 2021. The BSC consists members of the ACH, along with leaders from community organizations and any additional volunteers that would like to assist in coordinating for this celebration.

Dexter Staff

City Staff

The City of Dexter Staff is charged with administering City service on a day-to-day basis. Staff handle various aspects in the City, including maintenance of roads and parks, providing clean water, putting on events throughout the year, and providing the many other services Dexter residents have come to enjoy.
